Time out chair...for mum and child...

I found this wooden chair in a local charity shop, piled high with bags of items and old pots..
Her tattered stained cushions and scratched wood stain were calling out for help.. I dug her out and brought her home to my hubbies already stuffed garage.? I call it my workshop!!
Now that my lofty lion is closed for the winter I can start my workshop!! Project...
I am calling this chair the Time Out Chair for many reasons..which I will expand on later..
I started by giving it a good cleaning and sanding, painted her with a baby blue finished dry brushing white overtones.,then applied A thin coat of paste wax to protect her from bangs and bruises. The cushions were restuffed with fluffy new batting thenI recovered her with a vibrant
fabric.
The bright colored birds have been embellished and hand sewn to form a three D effect then attached A few loops to the back of the chair..this chair is lower to the floor therefore it is easy to climb into for all ages.. It would be great chair to cuddle up for a story time with a special litte one.. Or perhaps this could be a special TimeOut Chair for being naughty!!

One Of A Kind Hall Tree!!

The history of this one of a kind hall tree...which consists of three pieces of recycled furniture. The main back of this piece is a dark heavy weathered stained pine door that lived in an old log cabin down the lane where I live..I rescued it from the trip to the landfill. After a sanding and a coat of robin egg blue paint I attached a shelf with hooks which I picked up at a garage sale a few months back,. to make it all stand up I screw nailed a half moon  vintage table I bought at auction in the summer.. Sanded it and painted it to match the door and the shelf..now I need some help from hubby to insert a small block behide it so it stands up and keeps it from being top heavy..what cottage owner would not want this little gem to welcome them every time they open their cottage door..I hope !!,
